1/6 — LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE DISTANCE.
Did they suddenly become cold?
Or did the relationship become more emotionally intense?
Sometimes the timing matters.
A person may pull back when they feel overwhelmed, vulnerable, or unsure how to handle what they’re feeling.
That doesn’t automatically mean they stopped caring.
Automation didn’t free us. It just made the remaining humans work twice as hard to prove they’re still worth the salary. The robots don’t need coffee breaks or therapy.
I got a text from a number I didn’t recognize at 6:47 a.m.
It said:
“Please don’t let your husband know I contacted you.”
I almost deleted it.
Then another message came through.
“I think you deserve to know what happened the night he said he was working late.”
My husband had told me that night was completely normal.
He said he stayed at the office until almost midnight because of an urgent project.
I never questioned it.
Until I received a photo.
It was a picture of my husband sitting at a restaurant.
Across from him was a woman.
I didn’t recognize her.
The timestamp was 10:32 p.m.
I asked the stranger who she was.
She replied:
“That’s my sister.”
Then:
“She died three months ago.”
I stared at the screen for what felt like a minute.
I thought it was some sick prank.
So I asked her to prove it.
She sent me another photo.
Same restaurant.
Same table.
Same night.
But this time, my husband wasn’t sitting across from the woman.
He was sitting beside her.
And the woman was holding something in her hand.
My wedding ring.
I called my husband immediately.
He answered on the third ring.
I asked him where he was that night.
He said:
“At work. Why?”
I didn’t tell him about the photos.
Instead, I asked:
“Do you remember Sarah?”
There was a long silence.
Then he said:
“Who told you that name?”
That was the moment I knew this wasn’t about cheating.
I asked the woman why she had contacted me.
Her reply came almost immediately:
“Because my sister left something for you before she died.”
Then she sent me an address.
It was the address of the apartment my husband told me he’d never been to.
I went there the next morning.
The landlord opened the door.
He looked at me for a few seconds and asked:
“You’re his wife, aren’t you?”
I said yes.
He sighed.
Then he said:
“I’m surprised he didn’t tell you about the apartment.”
I asked:
“What apartment?”
He pointed down the hallway.
“His.”
I had been married to him for four years.
Apparently, he had been renting that apartment for six.
I’m drawn to deep thinkers.
I don’t want every conversation to be small talk. I want to know what shaped you, what you believe, what you care about, who matters to you, and why you see the world the way you do.
Let me pick your brain. I want to understand what makes you you.
I’m not a body
I’m a soul, a soul in a body
An angel in human form✨
A little piece of heaven walking on earth
A beautiful soul having a human experience
More than what the eyes can see
More than flesh, more than bone
I am energy, spirit, and consciousness✨🤍
