@PennsylvaniaPol@the_transit_guy Renfe is state owned and is a public service. It’s not meant to be profitable. Further more 110m for the extensive rail network is nothing compared to other government expenditure.
@FootballCliches after Dean Huijsen’s goal for Roma at the weekend, the (Italian) commentator said he went “coast to coast”. Is a vertical run considered coast to coast?
@tomjpandolfi@the_transit_guy You can take public transport or if you feel you can’t live without a car then sit in traffic. Why should public spaces be only for cars? resurface it and let small businesses thrive, as well as creating outdoor spaces for citizens and commuters.
@WillFedder They’re also building a museum metro station, that will take 10 years in one of Rome’s main squares (Piazza Venezia).
It’s time to stop the opinions of few block progress for many.

@MisherKenneth@the_transit_guy@norcalfactchek It’s not that though, trains aren’t replacing cars, they are supplementing existing modes of travel, and will work towards reducing car traffic. There will always be drivers and passengers, shouldn’t they both have options?
@norcalfactchek@the_transit_guy A car is also 1900s technology and yet everything is built around them. In your mind should everyone be driving cars instead?
@norcalfactchek@the_transit_guy I don’t go to war or have children, and yet taxes go to budgets of those departments. It’s selfish to not want to help the people around you for your own personal gain. You don’t have to use trains, but don’t stop progress.
@norcalfactchek@the_transit_guy If everyone had your mentality then there would be no progress. Even if you don’t plan to use trains, why wouldn’t you want to help make society better and more accessible for those who don’t want to drive? Selfishness can only get you so far.
@norcalfactchek@the_transit_guy That’s not how societies work, communities work together to improve. Additionally if the infrastructure was built it would make your driving experience more enjoyable as there would be fewer cars around.
