1 million meals served!
The City in partnership w/ @FoodlinkNY, @RCSDNYS, & local community agencies provided over a million grab-&-go meals to #ROC families in response to the #COVID19 crisis. What an example of this community working together to meet the needs of its citizens.
I criticized and disagreed with Obama plenty. But watching this eulogy...damn, I miss him. I miss a President who can show emotion and lift our spirits, call to our better angels and remind us of what unites us as Americans. I miss a President who speaks in complete sentences.
I just took to the Senate floor to demand we pass the House-passed, bipartisan HEROES Act.
It fights for hazard pay for essential workers, state and local govts, our schools, testing and tracing, the unemployed, Medicaid, elections, renters, and more.
But Senate GOP blocked it.
People can't feed their kids.
People are losing their homes, getting kicked out of their apartments.
Small businesses are going under.
The Republican response?
Let them eat cake.
Americans should never again rely on foreign supplies during a pandemic.
The fed gov took a smart step today in using the Defense Production Act to award the great NY company @Kodak a $765M loan for medical manufacturing.
We're happy to have worked w/ the WH to make this happen
President Trump ordered his administration to slow down coronavirus testing, he tried to block CDC funding, and he has ignored the experts from day one. His actions defy both logic and humanity.
What kind of president actively undercuts efforts that will save lives?
After 10 weeks of Senate Republicans’ unilateral “pause” on responding to the coronavirus, it remains unclear whether they will release their plan today – even as working families struggle to make rent, children go hungry and unemployment is expiring.
Unidentified stormtroopers. Unmarked cars. Kidnapping protesters and causing severe injuries in response to graffiti.
These are not the actions of a democratic republic.
@DHSgov’s actions in Portland undermine its mission.
Trump & his stormtroopers must be stopped.
Democrats are fighting for urgent COVID relief to state and local governments, hazard pay for frontline workers, rental assistance for struggling families, help for small biz.
For Senate Republicans to play political games after months of sitting on their hands is inexcusable.
BREAKING: The Senate Democrats are announcing the Economic Justice Act, a major new proposal to invest $350 billion in communities of color.
This is a needed step to address systematic racism and historic underinvestment in communities of color.
For the 17th week in a row, new unemployment claims have been higher than any week of the Great Recession. This is what Trump called a “great” economy.
It’s almost a parody of a brain-dead political party and of a decadent conservatism that they care more about statues of the dead than the well-being of the living.
