🇮🇩 Fears are growing for the world’s rarest apes after the devastating landslides and floods in north Sumatra.

In the Batang Toru forests, where Tapanuli orangutans are normally seen and heard, conservation teams say the forest has fallen silent since Cyclone Senyar hit on 25 November.

The critically endangered apes haven’t been spotted since, raising real concern for their survival.
