There was life before Grok Bot, but frankly it already feels like the stone age. I'm surprised how much I lean on it, especially for managing my professional brand and network. I'll post a short series on how I use it, and how much of the writing is still mine. #GrokBot
I'm seeing more posts on LinkedIn and X about getting the information foundations right for AI. Perhaps the awakening has begun. Or perhaps a few teams have found two copies of their asset register that disagree.
@jonoberheide Inside a large company you rarely get just one first-party app, though. Staff build several to do the same job, each pulling in its own packages, and nobody keeps a list of them.
I don't doubt AI will handle more complexity than we can, but I wonder whether we'll generate vibe-coded complexity faster than it can practically keep up. Is information architecture dead, or does it come back once we hit the energy and cost limits of AI?

Routing work to AI models is no different from how we used to route work to outsourced teams. Cultural bias, education, the context gap, cost per token β it is the same problem all over again.
Anyone that works in AI is working the hardest they've ever worked in their lives. On the surface it's somewhat ironic (AI should give us back time!), but the reality is that it's the most fun, fascinating and empowering epoch in human history. The intelligence revolution.
I caught up with a mate a few days ago. He runs a database services firm and was describing how today's AI models already do most of his work, at an impressive level of quality and reliability. The conversation turned, as these conversations now do, to job security and how quickly the ground is moving.
The question I keep coming back to is whether the AI disruption will still move at the pace of *people*, or whether this time really is different. The technology is profound, no doubt, but is it profound enough to buck every historical precedent?
Societies do not rearrange at the speed of a model release. They rearrange at the speed of hierarchies, habits, regulation, and the willingness of institutions to change how they actually decide things. Throughout history that has meant something closer to a generation β roughly twenty years.
Technologyβs impact has usually been limited by the human ability to absorb it, not by what the technology can already do. Twenty years would be the historical pattern - five to seven years would be historically violent. The interesting work is noticing which parts of the system can move fast, and which ones will stubbornly stay at it's historical velocity.
Checked the tech feed this morning but had to escape. Five minutes in my brain hurt and cortisol spiked.
- A billion humanoid robots by 2030.
- Insufficient oxygen production for the planned launch cadence.
- If your personal bot army is not running your side hustle, you are already behind.
- A rumoured new AI model around the corner with another dramatic step-change in capability.
I am not immune to feeling overwhelmed by the pace of change.
What pulls me out of that feeling and back into optimism is the long view. We have done this before. The world will rearrange and we will adapt, as we have through every other prior technological shock. It is a wild time to be alive and witness all of this chaos though...
Pretty soon my entire GrokBot team will be consumed just keeping up with all the breaking news from https://t.co/EV0wPU9YXR, Cursor and Tesla Optimus π₯΄
