5 REGRETS Players can Have:
▪️Not putting in the time
▪️Thinking the Grass is Greener elsewhere
▪️Not buying into TEAM
▪️Not accepting their ROLE
▪️Thinking coaches were out to get them
Don’t live with regret.
Do the work -> Appreciate your team ->
Accept your role.
Student-athletes: Say “thank you” constantly. Thank bus drivers, food service workers, administrators, your parents, teachers, etc. You’ve worked hard but it has also taken the effort of an entire village to help get you where you are. Don’t be entitled. Instead, be grateful.
@CoachJonBeck I think this hits the nail on the head. Kids play a TEAM sport, and when parents view it as an individual sport -> problems can occur.
🔸Good Coaching has a role
🔸But Good Parenting has a huge role too
Teach a WE > ME mindset to your child.
It is a lifelong skill.
Players: If you want to lead your team you will have to hold some of your best friends accountable. That isn’t always easy.
The best leaders lead by example and look after their teammates on the court, academically, socially, in the weight room, in the community.. everywhere.
