Ss told me that she’s learning to read and write better b/c of #empowerreading program from @SickKidsNews. I told her I am very proud of her hard work and exclaimed she should be proud too! I couldn’t see her face but I could hear her smile!

After sifting through all the bad news in the world today, I came back to these smiling gems. Thanks for the big smiles kids!
I hope these smiles bring a smile to your face too.

Here’s a game to help students work on making their addition facts to 12 (for now) and doubling facts to 24 (for now) fluent!
Roll the dice, add the dice, double the sum.
3. THINK TIME: pausing after you pose the question to a student gives them time to organize their thoughts before communicating their answer. This is something I found I needed to explicitly teach. Another strategy for ss learning tool box.

Every morning we “warm up” with a quick journal entry. This morning we were inspired by the French teachers quest for delicious pizza close to home.
After reading these, I’m hungry!

@LCFaith@parkdaleschool Brains rep ss’ brains. Elastics rep times student brains have been caught using EF’s, Learning Skills and other skills outside of the curriculum.
+ behaviour displayed, elastic given with no explanation. When timely, ask child why they received elastic. Rich Conversation ensues!
EXTREME HOPSCOTCH!
Turn the volume up and you’ll hear one of the best sounds ever, the laughter of kids playing.
