.@CoulsonPS unveiled Canada's first Climate Ready Schools Ground Oct. 6. It provides a progressive approach to addressing climate change and school ground design & gives #HDSB the opportunity to create experiences for student development connecting hands-on w/ the environment. 🧵

Yesterday Ss explored the 3 different rocks using mini Starburst. We demonstrated how sediment can change through the rock cycle to become magna. Looking forward to the final results this morning and the end of the rock cycle!
Coding has taken over in 4-1. We began with ‘unplugged’ coding by instructing our partners around the outside space focusing on being specific with our code. We transitioned inside and began our ‘plugged’ coding! 👨💻

In partnership with @EvergreenCanada, #HDSB is proud to announce the Climate Ready School Project, a first in Canada, will transform @CoulsonPS grounds into a valuable climate-resilient learning space. This summer, we visited for an update & learned what it means for the school.

Can we build a structure using 6 clues and collaborate? Ss persevered through tough challenges and reflected on how this activity relates to math. Once again, #togetherwearebetter was a prevalent theme in our work! @CoulsonPS
#InternationalDotDay in 4-1. Open ended task where the students had to draw a dot however they wanted, and could write whatever they wanted about it. Lots of creativity and ideas about many different dots! Proud of the Ss and their efforts every day!
