Last year, a friend of mine who is into the ram business had more than 25 rams. The lowest price of his ram was ₦350k.
Two weeks before Ileya, my friend moved to another location and built a ram shelter there. The next day, when he woke up, he found that one of the rams had already died.
He called me, and I kept pleading with him to take it easy because the man is hardworking. He got the money he used for the ram business from yam farming.
Unfortunately, three days later, while he was coming back from the farm, his wife called him to tell him that another ram had died again. He almost cried that day. He called me again and even sent me pictures. Honestly, I didn’t know what to say anymore.
He treated them and did everything he knew to stop it, but out of the 24 rams, only 4 remained.
Later, a veterinary doctor discovered that there was a harmful germ on the floor of the shelter they built for the rams, and the rams were ingesting it, which was what was killing them.
