The Indian Army was instrumental in turning disaster into triumph in Burma 1942-45 #WW2. #VJDay80

Impenetrable jungle, monsoons, poor infrastructure, malaria, crocodiles - Burma was 1 of the most punishing and hard-fought campaigns of WW2.

More VCs were awarded for #Burma than any other campaign.

I paid tribute to Jemadar Nand Singh VC, Naik Gian Singh VC, Havildar Parkash Singh VC & Lt Kamaljeet Singh Judge VC at a packed commemorative event to highlight #Sikh contribution in WW2 @LordLeycester in Warwick earlier this year.
