@SW_Help Three members of staff have now walked off after not helping. I'm at Waterloo. They all claim only a manager can help, but all say the station manager doesn't have a radio so they can't call them. That must be against station policy? It's appalling service all around here.
@SW_Help@SouthernRailUK please sort the ticket machines at Ashtead. They never work! As soon as it's raining or cold. The touch screens fail. Helpless staff just tell you it's working as your train leaves. Time and time again. It's simply not good enough.
@SouthernRailUK@SW_Help London bound side. Platform 1. The small one is better than the big one, probably a 50/60% working ratio. The big one constantly doesn't work whenever it's cold or raining.
@ChimeraX2021 Agreed Kennington was a flippant answer.
Again contingency planning would involve making sure that systems are in place to allow staff to work at multiple locations as well as for systems to be consistent across multiple stations to avoid station closures.
@ChimeraX2021 Instead of having 2 stations for patrons they channeled everyone to 1. I uploaded a photo for you. There were near 20,000 people who would attest to the mayhem that caused tonight.
Can you now please explain to me how what they did was acceptable? Seen as I've answered your Q's.
@ChimeraX2021 Ok. Close Kennington. Shift all the staff to Oval. Are you happier now?
I'm sure if I had all the data on station usage on a BH Monday I'd be able to work out the optimum station to shut.
You are just defending incompetence and being contrary.
Also. It's open again now.
@ChimeraX2021@TfLAccess 1. Contingency planning is pretty standard. Especially amongst big businesses and public services.
2. Any that aren't expecting an influx of c. 10,000 people in the next hour .... Which on a BH Monday is probably one of HUNDREDS.
3. They can walk. It causes chaos.
@ChimeraX2021@TfLAccess 1. Apologise if you can't do 2 or 3.
2. Plan properly in the first place.
3. Move staff from another station so you don't close the only station in London that's next to a stadium with 20,000+ people in it tonight.
@SouthernRailUK No. A member of staff identified as a 'supervisor' must despatch trains first is all we've been told. We've been on the platform for 45 minutes. It's freezing. This is totally unacceptable.

@SouthernRailUK Yeah. Me and another passenger attempted to show this to a member of staff. He refused to engage with me. He said 'Don't show me Twitter'.
It's pretty unacceptable actually.
@SouthernRailUK and we find ourselves yet again.... Stranded at a Southern rail station with no staff and no clue how to get home. Cancelled the train we're on with no advice about what to do. I'm at Epsom. My car is at Ashtead. How would you like me to get to it?
