🚨 Just in case you missed this, in May @EducEndowFoundn published a really useful guide with practical suggestions to support pupils with #SEND in mainstream. A MUST read for all leaders, including SENDCOs ⏬️

Since then I’ve conducted many whole school and borough wide training sessions - as well as many presentations to Governors, Senior Leadership & Middle Leadership.
I wonder how many more presentations I’ll do in the next 8 years and who’ll they’ll be to?🤔
Worth pointing out to anyone who accuses Michaela Community School of excluding its way to excellence: 22 suspensions and zero exclusions in the latest year figures. Obviously this won’t matter to anti-standards activists, who will find new myths to fuel their hatred, but it’s worth making it clear for public record: when you get the school behaviour model working, you exclude *less* because *you don’t need to* exclude frequently.
The chaotic, dark mistake many make is to try to reduce exclusions by simply making it harder for schools to exclude. This results in worse environments for all students, not better.
Last day of summer holiday for me 😅.
Hopefully Utd beat Arsenal to round off what’s been a brilliant break! 🏽😁
Shout out to all the teachers heading back and giving their all to change lives. ✊🏽👊🏽 #Respect

Dickens with the Easter Eggs at Xmas:
Stave 2 of ACC begins with “When Scrooge awoke” and ends with “he sank into a heavy sleep.”
Could be interpreted as:
Blinkers removed -> Weight of guilt (Marley’s chains!)

NEW: income inequality in US & UK is so wide that while the richest are very well off, the poorest have a worse standard of living than the poorest in countries like Slovenia https://t.co/gtHvhNsnuT
Essentially, US & UK are poor societies with some very rich people.
A thread:
Framing Black English kids whose great grandparents came here as culturally ‘Caribbean’ may no longer be useful for these kinds of things, given the actual nations of the Caribbean take education so seriously/have pretty good outcomes when measured against comparable nations.
There's a teacher shortage coming. It's been coming for a while, but was staved off by the pandemic.
Now, it's heaving back into view & it isn't pretty.
It's easy to blame the DfE, but I think some other things are happening that matter outside of education too 🧵... STRAP IN!
