My name is Andy Yung, and I’m a public school Pre-K teacher in Flushing, Queens, New York. Through a DonorsChoose project, my classroom was generously gifted a Dyson V15 Detect Pro cordless vacuum a little over a year ago. It quickly became one of our most valued classroom tools — helping us keep our rug area clean and safe for our young learners who spend much of their day learning and playing on the floor.

Unfortunately, the vacuum has recently begun shutting off immediately after turning on. I’ve tried both of the batteries that came with it, but the issue persists. Given that this was a DonorsChoose-funded item, I want to be sure I handle it properly and explore any possible solutions before assuming it’s beyond repair.

I’m reaching out to ask:
•Is this a common issue with the V15 Detect Pro model?
•Are there any troubleshooting steps or service options available for a classroom-purchased Dyson through DonorsChoose?
•If repair or replacement is possible, what steps would I need to take to begin that process?

I truly appreciate your time and any support you can offer. This vacuum has been such a huge help in maintaining a clean and healthy classroom for my students, and I’d be grateful for any guidance on how to get it working again.
