🧠 Most traders think markets move because of candles.
I used to think the same.
Then I discovered Auction Market Theory.
It completely changed how I look at price—not as random candles, but as a continuous auction between buyers and sellers.
📚 This is Part 1 of my Order Flow Series.
Over the next few threads we'll build from the foundations all the way to Market Profile, Volume Profile, Footprint Charts and professional execution.
Let's start with the foundation. 🧵
ES opened strong today, printing a new ATH.
I initially expected a small sell-off back toward yesterday’s VAH, but the market had other plans.
Instead of forcing a trade and chasing the move, I waited.
Later, we got a clean 5M retrace into a solid base, giving me the setup I was looking for to ride the continuation.
+$700 on each of my 2 accounts. 💰
But the biggest win today wasn’t the P&L.
I regained some confidence in my execution — enough to add a second account alongside my first one, and I ended up making a nice profit on that one too.
I didn’t take a single contract off today. I just trailed the position and let the move play out.
I’m looking to have a strong year. Wish me luck! 🤞📈
The past month has been a real battle with my mindset.
I took way too many losses due to impatience and entering without enough confirmation. But I’m genuinely proud of myself for climbing out of a $1,000 drawdown and getting back to break-even.
I’ve refined my entries, improved my patience, and stayed focused on my highest-quality breakout setups — and they’ve been performing really well.
Still plenty to work on, especially my scale-outs. I need to get better at holding more contracts for longer and letting my winners run.
But all in all, a great day and a strong start to August.
Now it’s time to lock in and focus on getting 1% better every single day.
And most importantly, I can finally continue my Order Flow thread with a clear mind and full confidence in the process. 📈

Let's start with the foundation. 🧵
Everything we covered today is the foundation.
🏗️ Without it...
Market Profile won't make sense.
Volume Profile won't make sense.
Footprint Charts won't make sense.
They're all simply different ways of observing the same auction.
@joseftrades That hits close to home, I used to flip through setups like channels on TV before finally sticking with order flow; my consistency shot up after that.
I missed the beginning of the session, so I was a little late to the party.
The setup was a breakout from the consolidation zone, followed by a retest and continuation to the downside. I trailed my stops, but without a clear reference point for a possible retrace, I took a 1:2 reward-to-risk and called it a day.
