is there any game on the planet with raids as good as the ones in destiny 2?
the execution demands placed on the player, the teamwork required, puzzle complexity, aesthetics, etc etc etc -- i'm really convinced they're completely in a class of their own.
can anything compare?
I mean, this is actually extremely common. Every sponsored deal I've done they'll tell you what they want the sponsored promo to be about and what topics they don't want in the promo. Imagine you got hired to do an ad read and went off script to talk about a highly controversial and divisive topic. That's basically what's going on here.
But also note they didn't say, "Don't be critical of Marathon and only say nice things."
I've done dozens of ad reads and so have you in our years of content creation. You absolutely know this isn't abnormal lol, I've had other studios tell me to avoid talking about their other games because they want to avoid the comparisons. Just focus on the game you're being paid to put in front of your audience.
@frogpitgaming@DSR_Joker Every single gamer I know new what Concord was before it's open Beta even hit because people were ragging on the look of the characters and how bad the design was
Now if that doesn't align with your experience so be it.
but I bet alot of people had my experience, its not nothin
@CoolRunnerCraig These things compound combine that with the fact that Bungie likely has an efficiency problem in office causing them to spend more money at a faster pace and you end up where you are
But yeah the renovations played a part too
This take is so bad.
they overextended and expanded an office they didn't need because people were working at home.
it was pure vanity, they were not working in a dungeon and it was a big waste of money when they were supposedly in the red and needed a Sony buyout to live
can’t buy a video game, cus the studio might take “our money” and spend it on “bullshit” like a nice office for them to work.
if I invest in a game, they better work in a dungeon for cheap, and keep the game running forever.
@CoolRunnerCraig And furthermore even if that's the case,
sure absolutely, that definitely plays a part in why they were in the red, but if you are in the red why are you spending money on renovating a perfectly good Office Space?
answer that question
it’s crazy how all Destiny really needed to feel alive again was a big “upkeep” update to the core world of the game and how much better the game feels now that we’ve finally gotten it
The single turning point for all of this is the DCV. Even with higher numbers in future years, it drastically hurt onboarding from then until the end here. There is a reason essentially no games cut out the first 25% of their story
