Saw a ted talk titled “Being autistic in mainstream education”. The girl Becky said her undiagnosed autism would make her anxious and she would miss hw assignment or school. Common for educators to dismiss this as lazy students when there really is something deeper!
Terence Brady makes a great point for UDL in his TED Talk. What happens to the learner if the educator isn’t professional in differentiation? UDL intrinsically builds differentiation whether the teacher is up to speed or not so all students have access.
Great TED talk by Sara Mauldin, “The Importance of Inclusion”. Schools without inclusion encourages a perception that SWD are lesser humans. Inclusion celebrates people and their differences instead of separating them.

Using #numicon to show the meaning of addition and the concept of exchanging ten ones for one ten. #CRA is how we make math make sense. We do not need to subject our students to endless worksheets of mindless problems.
