اتفهم محاولة الشرع تجنب توصيف الكيان بلعدو من خلال سعيه للحصول على شرعية دولية و اعتراف غربي يفضي برفع العقوبات عن البلد المنهك ولكن توصيف الاحتلال ب "الدولة الاسرائيلية" وهوو الموجود حتى اللحظة داخل الاراضي السورية خطأ سياسي كبير يجب تداركه سريعا في الخطاب الرسمي السوري.

- Arbitrarily detained in 1982, age 25, at Damascus Airport upon entering Syria as a student.
- Transferred to infamous Tadmur Prison in 1985; stayed 16 years there, first 8 of which in solitary confinement.
- His family did not know his whereabouts for decades.
- Later moved to Sednaya, likely as Tadmur was shot down.

He expresses amazement at all the devices he sees around him, and speaks in eloquent Arabic and with the most stoic attitude. Just impossible to wrap one's head around his ordeal.
