Today, I feel old. It's the last day for this year's wonderful S6 year group @InverurieAcad. Every year is emotional, with the last day tinged with sadness and happiness. #Classof2023, it's been a blast!

The last few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions, from happiness of people achieving, to the stress of marking; from optimism of the future of the awesome @InverurieAcad leavers, to the sadness that your laughs and chat will no longer fill S21. Good luck, folks.
Absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of PT Digital Technologies @InverurieAcad. Without a doubt, COVID-19 is a challenge in many respects, but the experiences of technology offers many great opportunities for reduced Teacher workload and student personalisation.
I got stopped in the Humanities Learning Plaza of @InverurieAcad this afternoon and told there was a "present to give" me. I opened my eyes and this was the present π Thank you SO much, Chloe and Hannah. Such a fantastic present! #HumpDayVibes#earlychristmas
Thank you all for a stimulating and engaging Virtual Supported Study. We hope you found it helpful. Next Tuesday, we'll focus on answering a 'Conclusions' source question. Similar Virtual Supported Study sessions will follow for Higher and Advanced Higher Modern Studies.
The Modern Studies Association (MSA) Annual Conference, #MSAConf20, will be held virtually this year, due to #COVID19. Any Modern Studies Teachers who're interested in attending on Saturday 7th November can find out more, and book your ticket(s), here: https://t.co/miOqOBlyKc
@MissCrabbHist @InverurieAcad The boss gets the best view with his lovely corner room! The perks of being boss, I suppose. Still, I can't complain. I love my room - a couple more weeks and we'll actually be working in the ICC! π
S21 is starting to look less like "classroom type B" and more like my soon-to-be, professional home, when @inverurieacad moves across to the Community Campus in a few weeks. It's been a productive afternoon getting the room set up. I'm super excited to get teaching in here!
@missgarrowmods @InverurieAcad They were a Christmas present from some of my National students last year. I wasn't allowed to know what the present was, nor where it came from beforehand, so I'm afraid I can't point you in the right direction. They are brilliant cut outs! I always enjoy a prop while teaching.
@MissCrabbHist It's been a long time coming, and looks great. It's a shame we'll move to the ICC just as you've found your way around our current building- although I don't think you've been shown all of the little hideaways in the current building... yet!
@MrFullerMSH It's funny how the photos don't do it justice - particularly our (mis-numbered π) rooms. Can't wait to get the boxes unpacked and get going!
The Inverurie Community Campus looks amazing. I can't wait 'til we move in, after the October holidays. H/T to the photographers, @MrFullerMSH and @mrsJ_History - it's their photos I'm borrowing.
#ModernStudies: As we move on from looking at the causes and impacts of #crime in Scotland and the wider UK, we'll begin to look at how we try to prevent and punish crime in society. In learning this, it's important to understand the Scottish criminal court system.
H and AH: Last week, we looked into some of the factors which cause #crime in Scotland and the wider UK, from alcohol to a lack of education. Here are the key headlines from our learning in 65 seconds! #ModernStudies#Revision#crimeandpunishment
Here's the next #revision in 65 seconds video for #ModernStudies. This time, the video looks at the impacts of #crime on victims, offenders, their families, and wider society.
Thank you to the mysterious Post-it note bandit who left this message on my car today. I'm looking forward to seeing you all back in the Academy, next week, too. In the meantime, enjoy the glorious sunshine of the last few days of the holidays. #BackToSchool
If you were in Advanced Higher Modern Studies in the past year, and got your result today, could you please check Google Classroom. There's an important message. Make sure others who were in the class know to check too. Get in touch if you have difficulties, i.e. passwords, etc.
Good luck to all @InverurieAcad candidates whoβll be receiving #SQAResults tomorrow. This year's events have been challenging, fast-moving and a cause of anxiety for many. I admire the resilience youβve shown in the face of such adversity, and want to wish you the best of luck.
