Everything starts with education. It is not by accident that it's one of the top priorities for our partnership at various levels. I look forward to tangible results of my today's meeting with @MrChristopherBa, Genesis Joy Schools Executive Director - for his school and students
Advocating for adequate resources in education #SDG4. With support from The LEGO Foundation, we're joined by Hon. @edwinsifuna & Hon. @AnthonyTomOluoch, and Hon. @BeatriceElachi2 with local partners - ICPAK (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya) (ICPAK), the Kenya Primary Schools Headteachers Association (KEPSHA), the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KSSHA), and the Special Schools Heads Association of Kenya (SSHAK) to push for increased per capita grants and resources for the Competency-Based Curriculum.
Together, let's ensure every child in Kenya receives quality education. #SDG4QualityEducation
@Omgobush@edwinsifuna@MrChristopherBa Great Milestone and looking forward for a more fruitful engagement tomorrow as we lobby for more support from the Hon.Mps to support the APBET bill and amendments to the Education Act.
Dr.Moses Wokono, UASA-KENYA @uasuChairman and all the APBET officials, the senator promised @edwinsifuna, he has delivered and still continues to push the APBET agenda. Together, we shall overcome.
@SakajaJohnson As the National Secretary of UNIFIED APBET SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION-KENYA, we thank God for you! You are an agent of reformation and transformation Nairobi county has been waiting for. Thank you for partnering with APBET schools for the purpose of that child in the urban slums.

Out of a population of +5 million, Nairobi having less than 250 public schools means many of our children especially in informal settlements are attending alternative informal schools.
However these schools are neither recognized nor funded. We must change this. Together with Mathare MP @HonATOluoch, I met 600 directors of different Alternative Providers of Basic Education and Training (APBET Schools) this afternoon to discuss their plight.
Will support legislative efforts to amend the Basic Education Act to recognize them for capitation, will reduce the license fee we charge as a County Govt and will work towards making sure they are part of the school feeding program in subsequent financial years.
