Last year at this time @BergenReilly was walking the halls of O’Gorman getting ready for semester tests. A year later and she has been named the BIG10 Setter of the Year and an All-American on the #1 ranked volleyball team in the country playing in the Final 4 tonight!
@HuskerVB
EZ update. He is just starting hour 13 of surgery. He is holding up strong. What a kid! Say a prayer tonight for Emmett, his parents, and the terrific Dr's.
The @GoJacksFB seniors play their final home game tomorrow night. Here’s a look at their staggering list of accomplishments both as a group and individually: https://t.co/xbxgsgO6SZ
The end of the month marks 3 years since I received a stage IV cancer diagnosis in the ER. Most didn’t think I’d still be here. But today I received the first payment for my memoir while headed to Houston for scans and while making final edits to my book.
If that’s not surreal, I don’t know what is.
Funds came in today and after setting aside taxes, the rest will be headed right back out tomorrow, split between two non-profits.
I didn’t write this book for personal gain, I wrote it to pay forward the gift of time I was given— which is why I’m giving my portion of the proceeds from it right back to support research. Because more patients deserve outcomes like I’ve had so far.
With the help of a team of doctors who took a chance on me, I’ve been off treatment and had no active cancer for a couple of years now. Let’s hope tomorrow’s scans bring more of the same🤞. I’ve got things to do and a story to tell 😄
9,000 stories each as unique as the young person that tells it.
Stories of challenge. Stories of love.
Today, the 124th Army-Navy Game honors their story.
We had 2 moments today at the Army/Navy @CollegeGameDay near the end of the show that to me, really nailed why I’m so proud to be part this show.
We had a feature on Steve Dwyer Jr who died on a Blackhawk training exercise with 4 other soldiers. His Dad Steve Sr talked about his son-his life-what made him special and how difficult his loss has been for he and his family. Jen Lada did an amazing job on that feature and tagged it w/ a soldier playing taps live and we faded into black. Moving moment for all who watched.
Then at the end of the show we had Bill Belichick on as our celebrity picker-to watch he and LC talk Navy football and to hear how impactful those years were on BB as a youngster w/ his Dad Steve as an assistant during those years so incredible to see. And THEN he makes his pick and pulls a Lee Corso-putting on an old Navy helmet as he picks to Navy to win!! Coach Belichick is t doing THAT anywhere else-just surreal!
2 segments from opposite ends of the spectrum could not have been played off any better!
Love this show! Grateful to be part of it.
