Who’s responsible for managing a tree fallen in or over a river? 🤔

Primarily this is the responsibility of the riparian landowners. Sometimes it’s assumed it’s the sole responsibility of the @EnvAgency.

Across the Arun & Western Rother Catchments there has been a large amount of rain over the weekend. The rivers are performing as expected & are being monitored by

🚍 We were on @bbcsoutheast last night where they interviewed us about how we are recycling shingle on the beech between #Shoreham & #Lancing to protect the community from flooding.

We are getting #WinterReady by bolstering coastal flood defences by moving shingle into place. Find out all about it this evening on @bbcsoutheast & @itvmeridian

Great opportunity promoting the extensive beach works @EnvAgencySE are leading on in Lancing.

20000 tonnes of shingle is being recycled. That’s the same amount as 1600 London buses or 3 Royal Albert Halls.

⚠️Slippery conditions after snow/rain are common along riverside public rights of way.
