#MentalHealthMatters
In March 2022, 90,789 young people in England were referred to a mental health service. 90,789 referrals in one month. This is the highest monthly figure where records are available.
This situation cannot go on.
It’s been a pleasure working for @playonthepitch_ over the past month. A fantastic set up by James, allowing grassroots football teams the opportunity to play at some of the countries top stadiums ⚽️👏
On to @CPFC and @ChelseaFC next weekend!
#grassroots#football
It’s been a busy weekend here @playonthepitch_ with events at:
📍 Selhurst Park, @CPFC
📍 The Hawthorns, @WBA
📍 Carrow Road, @NorwichCityFC
Lots of fun and some impressive footballing ability on show⚽️
Please like, comment and share if you have joined us this weekend!
A conversation with a student today;
‘Sir, you are always checking in with us and asking how we are but I want to check in and see how you are?’
Just goes to show the kind and caring environment we are trying to develop at our school☺️

🗣 "Growing up - I always felt the need to hide myself. I'm Josh Cavallo, I'm a footballer, and I'm proud to be gay"
Adelaide United midfielder Josh Cavallo has posted a heartfelt message online, becoming the only known current male professional player in the world to be out 🏳️🌈
If there is one message we could tell everyone this #WorldMentalHealthDay, it would be that having a mental health problem is nothing to be ashamed of. Anyone can struggle. Most of us will have to reach out for help at some point. And that’s okay.

@LondonPehwb 🎯 - quality PE must be front and central in the curriculum if our C&YP are to thrive and not just survive these past 18 months. Physical, emotional and social well being are the best outcomes we can secure as an entitlement for all. @afPE_PE
Pupils should NEVER be taken out of creative/practical subjects which are part of a rich, broad & balanced curriculum. Many children & young people thrive in these subjects which impacts on their overall potential & learning achievement @afPE_PE@RealGeoffBarton@YouthSportTrust
100%! Having worked across multiple schools as a coach, I’ve found this is so important. Key relationships to build I’ve found is with Office staff and Facilities staff.

Great news that the PE and Sport Premium will continue next year!
If spent in the correct and proper way, what an opportunity this provides to improve PESSPA opportunities and aid the physical and mental well-being recovery of our young people. #PE#SchoolSport
PE & SPORT PREMIUM UPDATE:
@educationgovuk has confirmed that it will be providing £320 million funding for the Primary PE and Sport Premium for 21/22. @AliOliverYST says “The opportunities it will support should be recognised as an important contributor to our national recovery"
A year on from my dissertation research into this subject, the lack of transparency and accountability regarding schools spending of their Premium is still a huge issue. Reading accounts from @MattersActive only highlights the issues faced by many PE leads.
Covid 19 has hit schools hard. Already stretched budgets have been stretched like never before. But has PE become a casualty of the pandemic and is ringfenced government money being used correctly?

Great to see the work of @NiallO7Brien and @PEchurchprim1 however, having heard about their Friday enrichment on the @ThePEUmbrella podcast. A great example of the Premium being spent to enhance the #PESSPA offer in school.
