Many pupils grow up in environments in survival mode, where their emotional development was stuck due to a lack of safety, neglect to help them grow & develop fully.
Schools can support development by providing strong relationships, safe & supportive environments.
Just in case you missed it, here is my Google Drive Resource Library.
I hope it sparks new ideas, fuels your creativity, and helps you head into the new school year with confidence.
Wishing you all the best this year.
We've got this, bruh.

For pupils best to learn in schools this requires lowering stress. This requires safe, predictable relationships that best support brain regions that pupils need for learning.A calm limbic brain involved in attachment safety & threat opens up the cortex thinking & problem solving.
Some words hit a little differently today. Dolly Parton had a way of pairing wisdom with warmth, reminding people to know their worth, stay true to themselves, and never let someone else decide what they deserve.
RIP, Dolly. ๐
A true original whose music, humor, generosity, and heart reached far beyond the stage. What a legacy to leave behind.
I WASNT BORN TO "JUST TEACH"
I WAS BORN TO INSPIRE OTHERS,
TO CHANGE PEOPLE, AND TO NEVER GIVE UP;
EVEN WHEN FACED WITH CHALLENGES THAT SEEM IMPOSSIBLE.
When the same problem survives different teachers, different schedules, and different school years, that deserves more than another reminder to โbe flexible.โ Patterns are information.
A teacher saying the workload is unmanageable, the coverage model isnโt working, or a new initiative has no room to live beside everything already on the plate may be identifying a design problem before leadership has a clean solution for it. That can be uncomfortable to hear, but discomfort doesnโt make the observation wrong.
Leaders donโt have to agree with every complaint. They do need to separate resistance from evidence. If several capable people keep naming the same friction point, itโs worth asking what in the system keeps recreating it.
You notice how many people keep a school running the moment one of those jobs isnโt covered. A late bus changes the morning. A cafeteria shortage changes lunch. A custodial gap can change whether a space is usable. An absent aide can change what a student is able to access that day.
Teacher appreciation deserves plenty of attention. So does the work happening everywhere else in the building. Students experience all of it, even when the people doing that work never appear on a report card.
Adulting is realizing;
1. You will die, and most people wonโt care after a while.
2. People use you until youโre no longer useful.
3. Most people secretly want you to fail.
4. One day youโll wish you started today.
5. Most people fake happiness while dying inside.
6. No one is coming to save you.
7. Youโll be judged no matter what you do.
8. Your health is your greatest wealth.
9. Happiness is temporaryโdiscipline is permanent.
10. Success takes longer than you think.
11. No one respects weakness, even if they sympathize.
12. Complaining changes nothing.
13. Not everyone you love will love you back.
14. Money wonโt solve all your problemsโbut it solves most.
15. Social media lies to you every day.
16. Youโre replaceable at your job.
17. Life is unfairโget used to it.
18. One day, youโll run out of days.
19. Regret hurts more than failure.
20. Nobody cares about your excuses. Work harder
The earlier you understand this, the better and easier your life gets.
