@MartinSLewis@bbc5live My wife and I lived Bangkok for 5 years. We were both teaching in a British International School. Combined take home salary equivalent ~£140,000pa in UK. Our quality of life was dramatically better. Now, we can barely cover our mortgage and bills. Still love the UK though.
@griffiths_janis@MouseSized Apologies, I didn’t want to cause offence. I thought we’d moved on from this deplorable usage of the word but I have clearly got this wrong.
How dare you @BBCr4today blame school attendance on teachers strikes. This is a crisis of underfunding for 13 years. Teachers are fighting for children’s education to be valued and to have the staff and funding to get students back into schools.
2018, more teachers resigned from the profession than any other year PRIOR.
2019, that number was SURPASSED.
2020, that number AGAIN SURPASSED.
2021, BROKE ALL RECORDS making it the biggest teacher resignation year of all-time.
Question: Was anything learned?
Answer: No! 😔
@UnofficialOA It’s my birthday today and I joked with my Y8s that I was 23 (I’m mid to late 30s) and they didn’t even flinch, just nodded and said happy birthday 😂
@absoluteradio Today is my first birthday with our lovely new daughter Stevie. My wonderful wife is cooking me my favourite spagbol for dinner while listening to you guys. Please could you play one of our favourite songs Grounds For Divorce by Elbow, yes, we both get the irony 😂
