Those muppets on social media complaining about schools being closed in a 35 degree + heatwave and teachers having “even more days off” please do feel free to join the education sector. There is a huge retention problem at the moment and clearly you know best anyway! 🫵🏼🤬
@Cymro291 Took quite a long time for you to realise?! My profile picture is literally me outside on grass with a football at my feet. What did you think I was teaching? ICT? 😂😂😂😂😂
Find it incredibly amusing that 99% of the people moaning on social media about schools being ‘shut’ for a heatwave are in desperate need of help with their own spelling and punctuation 😂
@Cymro291 You told me to do better. I merely confirmed that I had attended work, not ‘allegedly’ as you put it. No applause needed but gets your facts right and you might get a clap
@Hucklegooner Feelings have not been hurt, please don’t worry. Maybe it wouldn’t be hard for you. As I say, sign up if you think you know better. You’d expel all knowledge you have and probably be done in 8 minutes
@PatrickCragg@Hucklegooner I don’t think teachers are paid anywhere near as much as they should. Perhaps I’m biased but it doesn’t feel like we are paid for the amount of work we actually do
@Hucklegooner I’m not arguing, I’m making a point that is different to yours and based on ACTUAL experience. You replied to my original tweet and told me my job wasn’t hard. I’m telling you it is. Never said it was the worst or hardest job in the world.
@Marky8812 Every person on the planet moans about their job. Please do tell me why my job is especially irrelevant? Teaching young people about first aid, healthy eating, the benefits of physical/mental health - arguably more important than most information students are provided with no?
@Hucklegooner How would you know the job isn’t extremely hard? How would you even know if it was easy? Have you ever been a teacher? I’m speaking from 10 years experience. I’m so confused as to how you still think you can tell me it’s different? Your opinion on MY job is futile
@Cymro291 We’re setting work in the hope that those students who don’t want to fall behind will engage with it. If we didn’t set work, you’d probably moan anyway
Closing schools & giving PPE workers early finishes in 38°C heat isn't a soft option, it's basic sense. Med countries change their hours because heatstroke kills. Asking kids to boil & crews to collapse isn't "grit", it's stupidity. Protecting people is normal. Log off, boomers.
@Marky8812 You obviously follow a lot of teachers to see us all moaning about our work. If that’s the case, unfollow us. Just a reminder - I do most of my job in rain, wind, snow and heat. I wouldn’t moan if a builder was sent home by his site manager after a red-alert weather warning
