I would have to say this has been my favorite Intersession by far. We have done team building sink or swim activity, obstacle courses, soccer, relay races, capture the flag, and whatever the kids want to call this! I am already planning my next club. TOOL TIME!

Alarming numbers reported this year nationally. 60 percent of first-year special education teachers will be working without full special education teaching credentials. While special eduacation college programs have seen a 17% decrease in enrollment over the last 10 years.

Alarming numbers. Currently there are about 348,000 special education teachers for 5.9 million students ages 6-21 with disabilities in the United States. The student-teacher ratio has risen from 14 students per teacher in 2006 to 17 students per teacher in 2016.

It is not easy to be mom or dad. You wear many hats and because of Covid-19 you put on new hats. Teacher, custodian, lunch worker, and yes even times principal. I applaud you for your patience and kind spirt as you watched your child's education go from a classroom to a laptop.

We need to have conversations on racism in every classroom. Our curriculum can not be the only exposure our students have. We must lead by example. We must be empathic, kind, respectful, and compassionate. We must identify rascim and teach our students to speak out.
