I guess I don't get it, b/c I think that deal has major backfire potential, esp if he has another szn where he fades down the stretch and is nearly unplayable + hunted in the playoffs/play-in again.

Gillespie was cool, but no way would I bring him back for $13-15M/yr on 1(!) szn of legit NBA mins. Bad asset mgmt if PHX brings him back in that range. That deal won’t have value if he’s again unplayable down the stretch of the szn…

@JBMFargo @OTtalkshoop @swaveyxquis @BrightSideSun Talent out there def makes a difference, fasho, and maybe his processing would be a lil diff now if he knew JG & DB read the game in diff ways to help keep the team flowing vs what they actually do (shoot 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, pass 4th). We'll see how/if it improves next szn.

Sometimes he'll get a P&R and decide to snake it for his sig shot instead of reading the open space on the floor which helps his defender get a contest.. Or miss a C&S 3 b/c he wants to do that. He'll force it sometimes instead of taking what's there

I still cuss at my TV watching some of his typical silly passes/plays out of dbls where he picks up his dribble crossing half court and tries to sidearm pass it out to a teammate and gets TOVs.

@swaveyxquis @JBMFargo @OTtalkshoop @BrightSideSun When I watch him play, it's still true then and now, IMO.. Similar issues w/ diff teammates. Give up the rock then work as hard as u can to get back in the play instead of JUST "trusting" the others to make it happen, esp in the clutch. Have trust, yes. But don't just rely on it.

They're comfortable throwin 'em at him b/c they know he's not the best at reading 'em and he'll likely pass it off and won't work as much to get it back (which feeds the "passive" narrative)

Aight y'all, it was a cool '26-27 szn for PHX. They lost the play-in, but had continuity and Ott now has more culture and control of his locker room!

With Green, Grayson, & Royce on expiring's, it's gonna be hard to find palatable extensions, but it's doable. On to '27-28! 😂

Mitch Johnson has been so impressive coaching in his debut playoff run.

Adjustments galore. Under control during the games. Always has his team's eyes and ears. Not afraid to play the guys who are doing what's needed in the moment, regardless of experience.
