The bronze expansion joint of #Durham Kingsgate bridge. The inverted 'T' and 'U' apparently refers to the connection of town and university. I imagine this wasn't intentional - more natural to refer to 'city' or 'bailey' than 'town'. Interesting detail nonetheless.
