@alfaetrin Agreed. Though I have a soft spot for @PeteButtigieg whose intelligent and calm debating style is the very antithesis of the rage fuelled ranting so prevalent in American politics.
Itโs 1832 & Alexander McKenzie - my 4x great grandfather - writes from Ulapul to his secret fiancรฉe Isabella at Langwell imploring her to make their engagement public.
They later married & had ten children.
Sadly Langwell now owned by Paul Dacre of Daily Mail disrepute.
As yet another temperature record is broken today (& excess heat related deaths are reported all across Europe) a wee clip from @LBC with @IainDale last month. I triggered climate change deniers. You should read some of the hysterical, abusive commentsโฆ
I strongly support this @scotcivictrust initiative to protect the Hillhead Baptist Church from demolition. The last thing Glasgow needs is yet more civic vandalism.
The @scotgov needs to call this in as the Trust asks. @newglasgowsoc
@dalton_dalton99@colz261 Indeed. All flogged off by the Tories & LibDems - and the public housing stock too. But worst of all has to be Scotlandโs oil wealth squandered by Westminster as Norway built a massive sovereign wealth fund. All tragic.
Amazing, sad footage. 1960s Glasgow. So much of what we see here has been destroyed - the fine buildings on the north side of the Clyde (the Georgian ones only recently), the Odeon cinema, the Classic, Union corner, the tram systemโฆ.
Some amazing general views of the city, shot from a moving car in 1962. We start on the south bank of the Clyde, and then head into the city centre.

โIt was sold as Corbynism without Corbyn. They were obviously lying through their teeth, and did completely the opposite: junking people, policy & refashioning the Party top down... It was always going to end in catastrophe, which is whatโs happened.โ https://t.co/rlCdHaYGwC

There was so much that was grim about the Starmer premiership from targeting pensioners, betraying the WASPI women, flipping on the EU and his switch to hard line unionism. But for me his grimmest disappointment was on human rights & #Gaza Unforgivable. https://t.co/9Z1Uo0pa32
On the ten year anniversary of #Brexit a speech I made at Westminster about absurd Brexiter promises, Brexit chaos & its real life consequences.
Have a watch. What do you think?
