The times you are referring to she has immediate yellow sun exposure directly. Just being in the vicinity doesn’t make it evaporate just like that if she flew up into the sky unobstructed and allowed her cells to take it in she’d do what you just said otherwise she is like a collector building it up hence why I’m the first fight scene she was still able to punch really hard while in red sun
