The Democratic Party needs to move left. Elections since 2016 proved that there is little/no electoral downside to moving away from the center. In fact, moving left might help win elections by giving people a reason to vote for Democrats.
Given international trends this year it feels like a miracle that Landrieu won this, I mean Iโm no big fan of hers (I was a Walz guy in the first round) but Hawley wouldโve been a disaster.
Itโs almost physically painful for me to try and imagine what the margin in this race wouldโve been if it took place 20 years ago when America was much less polarized. ๐๐๐๐๐

@BlueWave2026 One part of this is running progressive candidates. I agree, young voters are an untapped potential. Registering just 1/8 of voters who turn 18 means 1M new voters every election cycle. Registering young voters is way more effective in stopping Republicans than immigration boosts
The right-wing hates both. In fact some of the far-right hates the "Indians" more because Mexicans have European ancestry but most of the Asians have none.
