This is the quote from the president who has forbidden my two daughters (+ 3 other players) to take the field this Sunday in a high level field hockey match in Melbourne. I have no words to try and understand this lunacy. π
"The Club is not seeking to coerce players into compromising their beliefs. Players are given a choice: to participate in the match and wear the rainbow socks in line with the uniform requirement, or to opt not to play in that round."
@LenRodwell Forbidden to play what they love and paid for. Ostracized by the club. Bullied by the opposition. Singled out by the governing body. Sorry mate - do you comprehend yet?
@Sensatski In previous years this is what occurred and for the most part it worked out ok until another club complained about not following the uniform rules and we were fined by the governing body as a result. Other teams do this though and no complaints and therefore no fines.

@47Dmac@andrewbogut@IzzyFolau Only when more people stand up. So many people tell me and the others that they support our stand - but then fall silent when needed.
@dortsmaria Correct. He claims he is doing this to stop bullying and promote inclusion. Despite numerous people pointing out the hypocrisy he doubled down on previous years where players had a choice.
