Southbound (2015) is a compelling horror anthology that, rather than relying on a simple framing sequence, has overlapping narratives and baton handovers, making it feel more like a single, fragmented tale.

It has original ideas, great FX and solid performances.

It seems like everyone involved emerged from the V/H/S franchise and went on to greater things. Director of 'The Accident' segment, David Bruckner, for example, went onto direct The Ritual, The Night House and the recent Hellraiser remake. He currently has a remake of The Blob in pre-production and an adaptation of Marcus Kliewer's novel The Caretaker.

Southbound is a great way to kill an hour and half, and the time just flies by.
