Israeli warplanes, drones, and artillery carried out a sweeping wave of attacks across southern Lebanon on Friday, striking dozens of locations from the border districts of Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun to the Nabatieh region and parts of the Beqaa Valley near the Syrian border.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that at least 31 people had been killed over the course of the day. The attacks included airstrikes on at least 37 listed areas, drone strikes on 10 areas, artillery shelling on eight areas, and demolitions of civilian homes and infrastructure in Bint Jbeil and Al-Khiam.

Several towns, including Kfar Tebnit, Barasheet, Safad al-Batikh, Al-Mansouri, and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, were hit multiple times or by different forms of fire.

🚨 BREAKING: Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent Mohammed Samir Washah has been killed in Gaza following an Israeli drone strike on his car at Al-Nabulsi roundabout, west of Gaza City. Footage shared from the scene by Drop Site contributor Mohammed Ahmed shows the vehicle engulfed in flames, indicating a direct hit.

Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the killing, stating that the number of Palestinian journalists killed by Israel has risen to 262 since the start of the genocide in Gaza. The Office called on the international community to “condemn the crimes of the occupation, deter it, and pursue it in international courts for its ongoing crimes.”
