Senegal's President Bassirou Diomaye Faye commends "the significant work accomplished" by former Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and his outgoing government as he chairs his first Council of Ministers since dismissing Sonko.
Faye says the new government is "accountable to both the President of the Republic and the National Assembly".
Tasks his new Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Mohamed Lo to submit a "Government Action Plan" that should "incorporate economic recovery, public finance reform, management of sovereign debt—including settlement of domestic debt—and the revitalization of key sectors."
