He leído el comunicado. Coincido plenamente en una frase: el presidente de LaLiga no es el dueño de la competición. El presidente del Real Madrid tampoco.

Representar a todos los clubes exige defender la igualdad y la equidad entre ellos. También cuando se sostiene que «LaLiga no vale nada» sin el Real Madrid o que los árbitros perjudican «al negocio que les da de comer». Sobre esas afirmaciones, que motivaron mi respuesta, su comunicado no dice una palabra.

Ahora se escudan en que respondí a un periodista «independiente». Pero ni el relato es nuevo ni lo es la estrategia de desviar la atención de otros problemas. Llevan años haciéndolo desde Real Madrid TV y a través de sus portaCOCes, hablando y escribiendo de una Liga adulterada jornada tras jornada. No pretendan presentar como una opinión ajena el discurso que alimentan desde su propia televisión y desde las instancias del club.

Reclaman que contribuya a generar confianza en la imparcialidad de la competición. Precisamente por eso rechazo el relato de que los árbitros están dirigidos contra el Real Madrid. Criticar una decisión arbitral es legítimo. Convertir cada perjuicio en prueba de una persecución es otra cosa. ¿Eso genera confianza o daña la imagen del fútbol español?

Confunden neutralidad con independencia. Si por neutralidad entienden no tomar partido ante nada, ni siquiera entre lo que está bien y lo que está mal, están pidiendo que renuncie a mi responsabilidad. La independencia exige decidir con criterio propio, sin presiones ni subordinaciones, aplicando las mismas reglas a todos y defendiendo el interés común. Eso implica tomar decisiones y posicionarse, aunque al Real Madrid no le guste.

Defender los intereses de un club no significa asumir su discurso. Y representar a todos tampoco significa obedecer al más poderoso. Hay que defender los intereses de la competición, de LaLiga.

Ni soy el dueño de LaLiga ni voy a gestionarla como si perteneciera a un solo club. Respeto a todos. Subordinación a ninguno.

“In light of the statements made by LaLiga President Javier Tebas Medrano, Real Madrid C.F. wishes to state the following:

Our club considers it intolerable for the LaLiga President to use his institutional position to repeatedly disparage and attack Real Madrid in the manner he does in every one of his public statements. It is deeply concerning that the person responsible for representing and protecting the interests of all LaLiga clubs remains obsessively fixated on Real Madrid, making our club a constant target of his public attacks.

His latest intervention is particularly serious and incomprehensible—unbecoming of a responsible administrator—as it involves commenting on an article by an independent journalist in a digital media outlet. Yet, he reacts against our club by taking the liberty of critiquing our sporting strategy—an utterly absurd and irresponsible move.

It is astonishing that the LaLiga President devotes his time and personal channels to publicly discrediting Real Madrid, rather than using his position to foster trust in the institutions charged with guaranteeing the competition's impartiality. In doing so, he continues to damage the image of our competition and of Spanish football worldwide.

Given this persistent and inappropriate behavior, we believe that professional football in Spain urgently needs a leader capable of managing the competition and unlocking its full potential while upholding the fundamental duty of neutrality. It needs someone who understands the nature of the role; the LaLiga President is not the owner of the competition, but an administrator serving the clubs that comprise it and have entrusted him with its leadership. We, the clubs, need someone who will honestly serve this mission.”
