EDSA SHRINE RECTOR CRITICIZES IRONY OF EDSA RALLY SUPPORTERS

EDSA Shrine Rector Rev. Fr. Jerome Secillano expressed concerns about the irony surrounding the ongoing EDSA rally, which is being supported by some of Vice President Sara Duterte's supporters.

In an interview on Christian Esguerra's Facts First on Thursday, November 28, Secillano pointed out the paradox of those who had previously rejected the EDSA spirit now calling for unity at the historic site.

He said, "'Yung sinasabi mong EDSA spirit, eh ito 'yung ironical eh, ito 'yung mga tao na hindi naniniwala sa EDSA kasi unang-una nga, ang EDSA na 'to ay diumano ay equated o kaya ay identified sa mga dilawan. Itong kampo na 'to ngayon na nagra-rally dito, ito 'yung mga ayaw sa ganung mga grupo na binanggit ko eh, 'yung pink, 'yung dilaw. Tapos ngayon eh sasabihin nila, EDSA, EDSA, magkaisa na tayo dito."
