Our principals wear many hats these days! Today they were my students' test subjects. Barkalow 6th graders got to test the lung capacities of both Mr. Smith and Ms. Harms to help navigate the steps of the scientific method.

This is an unusual first day of school to say the least! I tried keeping it as normal as possible by doing my traditional "first day of school science demo"! It was certainly the best part of my zooms by far!

Today students get to dig for fossils! After they identify each species they will characterize the ancient environment in which that fossil existed. @CTBarkalow

Guided by curiosity! While learning about rocks, this 6th grade student became curious about minerals. She did an individual investigation and taught the class about the Moh's hardness scale! @CTBarkalow
