Has someone already put a list of all the useful VI online resources together? Is anyone planning to put together a schedule of any live or recorded online learning for parents and teachers of VI? @perkinsvision@Priestley_Smith@ScottishSensory@VIEWteach
Mrs Delaney would like to share her happy song at the moment- Shake It Off by @taylorswift13 The children in Hope Street Class love this song and it really does brighten up your day! 😀 Please spread this tweet to make someone smile! https://t.co/WfwhLNr6CG
“If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.”
This needs writing in the sky and plastering on the front gates of every school.
If anyone has a family member in a care home/self isolating that is visually impaired and reads braille, please message me. I have an expert 8 year old brailler who wants to send some lovely letters and tactile art out to help those feeling lonely.
As our schools prepare to offer sanctuary to the most vulnerable from Monday, get food to children on FSM, look after children of key workers to keep the NHS and supply chains moving, we’re seeing teachers and support staff for what they are: heroes of our society.

Can I just make it clear that not every child with an EHCP is ‘vulnerable’.
I’m deeply ambivalent about this term, especially when it’s applied in this blanket way.
Many children with EHCPs (including my own) require them to ensure equality of opportunity, nothing else.
@AdamBNQT I offered my cousin some resources I have premade (she has a very poorly newborn so took her kids out of school). She didnt ask for them. I then had 4 separate inboxes from people I didn't know demanding resources for their child and getting angry!
If schools are shut soon, I do hope at least some thought is given to children at risk of harm, children living in poverty relying on FSM, and families for whom school is a lifeline. I feel pessimistic that real thought will be given by @educationgovuk for vulnerable people.
@Katy_primary97 & when you get the hire skates, bang the heel of the boot once your foots in it. Your toes should just tickle the end of the boot (dont need space!). It will help you get the best fitting skate & make you more steady on your feet - also the children!
@Katy_primary97 If you feel like you're going to fall, bend and put your hands on your knees! (I skate 2-3 times a week due to my skating obsessed daughter, usually at 6am on a morning 😂)
Everyone knows I’m a glue sponge advocate to stop the mad influx of glue stick plastic that schools throw away each year. Well, I’m super proud that our school is now a glue stick free zone ☺️ We have glue sponges and also refillable pots school wide now 👌🏻
Poundfit at lunchtime always goes down well! Lots of laughter and fun as well as good exercise. You should see it when the staff start joining in! 😂👍🏼 @pendlesgo
