Today we talked and learned about the African Nova Scotian flag and watched a video from Ms. Wendie Wilson to teach us all about the flag! We used this as inspiration to honor African Heritage Month in our class!
This student did a great job showing their math thinking to figure out the missing middle piece of our subtraction story!
There were 7 bears in the forest, some went away and now there are 2. How many went away?
They used a number line and counters to figure out 5 went away!
To wrap up our math unit we had so much fun creating questions, voting for our friends questions and then using tallies and pictographs to see what our classmates answers were! Way to go!
@Ms_BrownC
We talked about formulating meaningful questions to gather data.
First we voted for our favourite book
Then used tallies to compare how many people would like to read each book
Finally we recorded our data in a pictograph!
We been learning lots about equality! Figuring out if one side of math equation is the same as or not the same as the other.
Weโre also practicing our doubles strategy!
