First grade was visited by the fire department this morning and we learned all about fire safety! Then we made our own fire trucks and thought about ways to stay safe! 🚒🧯��🏻‍🚒

First graders have been working hard to identify and write closed syllable words and vowel-consonant-e syllable words!

We learned about Holi this week, and used watercolors to mimic the colored powder that is used in Holi celebrations! Check out my awesome artists!

So first graders made some traps and signs to try to catch him- unfortunately he was too sneaky and got away. But he was sure to leave them some messages!

The leprechaun came to our classroom while we were at lunch today and caused chaos!

In honor of the 100th day of school, we made a list of 100 things we’ve learned in first grade! It was fun to remember things we did from the beginning of the year until now!

We spent the last few days of school learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his impact on the world! Students made collages and wrote about their dreams for a kinder world ❤️

We had our first whole grade morning meeting today! We connected our SS unit and shared important traditions, and had a chance to meet new people! ☀️🎉

Today, first graders worked on practicing fluency by reading short plays! They even performed them for their classmates at the end of reading!
