My kiddos are superheroes! Just a view of Upstander Day! We are committed to standing up for each other in room 409. Plus, a few of my girls picked up trash on the playground just because and a note I found on a students desk at the end of the day. #inspired
This week Ss are asking questions about their reading. One student wondered how big a pteranodon would be compared to a third grader. I said let’s find out!
The dining room has now become the classroom. We’ve got 5th grade geography, Kindergarten writing, and Mom conferencing with her own students going on. #isleLEARN#isleREAD
We kicked off our Mystery unit today with a scavenger hunt to find our missing books. Students then had to look through the books to find our what our next genre study would be.
My biggest compliment in weeks and weeks- “When I heard him speak, it sounded like the stuff you say everyday.” @brewerhm has inspired me for a long time and I try to be better for my kids everyday because of it. Such an awesome experience today.
Ss took the place of teacher and authors as they wrote describing characteristics of items of their choice as their peers drew conclusions to determine what the mystery items were.
Research started today for our Magic Tree House stories. SO MANY standards were hit today and the kids were SO excited about facts they learned. #teacherwin#studentwin

This was my FAVORITE part of Convocation. The tears wouldn’t stop seeing one of my former extremely shy, quiet student up there. #growthmindsethero https://t.co/WLyjAahn4w
@andygrammer Our class heard you would be in Richmond next month at The National. We know you are a busy man, but there is always an open invite for a live performance in our room at Carrollton Elementary! ❤️ Thank you for such an inspiring song!
