@heymrsbond @JasonReynolds83 I so appreciate all of your commentary/ideas on here! I bookmarked this tweet to come back to. Do you have any specific way you start Long Way Down? Do you bring in supplemental pieces?
We used LEGOS today to explore the craft of writing! We read a basic five-paragraph essay and then a more nuanced one. I’m always so thankful for ideas from @MovingWriters
@MarcusLuther6 I'm tackling that this year too. I would love to hear what you are doing with it if you would be willing to share? I can share my stuff too!
What an incredible visit today from @MindyMcGinnis! She was engaging, funny, informative and kind. Our students and staff enjoyed a great day with her (presentation in auditorium)! #GVLibraries#WhatWeDo
Today for our students’ narrative writing, we went around and challenged them to fix just ONE part even if maybe they needed to revise more. I just saw a subtle shift in my students today because of it. They felt challenged but also felt proud of the rest of their work.
I gave up asking students to respond to each other's discussion posts. Now I ask them to quote & reference each other's responses in their projects/papers or summarize 4-5 student responses for the annotated bib. Students use each other's writing as a resource for the course.
