In Sept 2021 I joined my current school as their new Deputy Head. Four months later, and for a variety of reasons, I'm embarking on the new term as their Headteacher. I'll share our story on here as we navigate the #first100days
Scary? Yes.
Excited? Absolutely.
@Headteacherchat No, absolutely not. Trust our professionals to be able to organise their own time. It worries me when I hear younger teachers commenting on what time so and so arrived/left though, surely we are past this now?
@mr_rushby@MrTs_NQTs Another vote for @LanguageAngels_ they offer loads of support and CPD - and their curriculum design is spot on. Great for small schools, large schools and also mixed ages. Can't fault them.
Would any HTs/Senior Leaders be willing to share their School Development Plan templates with me? Mine is mind-numbingly long (20+ pages!)
There's got to be another way!
@MissJLud @mtptproject I started my NPQH whilst working, and then completed two of the modules whilst on maternity leave. Did the face to face days online. Definitely possible to do, but needed to be really organised to fit it in around my 2 children. I'm with Best Practice and they were very helpful.
@dave_mcpartlin They are essentially the same. However, independent schools are also subject to what's called a compliance visit, separate from an educational one, whereby everything to do with premises, H&S, HR, vehicle compliance etc are inspected. State schools rely on LAs for most of this.
@Headteacherchat Me! I'm on mat leave currently. Small school so no DH. It was a bit of a nightmare arranging cover but we got there in the end. Would be happy to chat.
