Year 8 is done! Year 9 will bring change for me as a I move schools and begin teaching at my neighborhood school less then 5 minutes from home. My little one will be on this new adventure as he starts kindergarten. We are excited but will miss the Bay! Thankful for my time there!
I was meeting today checking in on this leaders awesome progress. Then we talked about where we would go if we could go anywhere and she wanted to go ride a roller coaster SO we rode one virtually together complete with screaming and tilting like we were riding! So much fun!
Number talks zoom today. Look at those smiles! They were so excited! Slowly adding in some of our normal classroom routines where we can during distance learning. I can’t say enough how proud of these kids I am! ❤️ #wainwrightscrew
Look at those smiling kids! Reading whatever they choose and sharing their thinking ❤️my favorite 20 minutes of the day! Dogman is currently taking over our classroom 🤣 I am enjoying watching them enjoy books and growing as readers!
Post 5 So excited to have visitors from @CollabClassroom on campus today. They got to see what we do everyday in K-5! @KinderOwl Here is 3rd grade IDR and conferring.
Nothing better then digging into & discussing text with partners. Homework opinion articles really got us thinking about our opinions and reasons behind our opinions. The conversation was awesome! This is how we DO school in our little corner. #thirdgrade
3 act task fun today to introduce fractions. 3 cupcakes. 4 kids. What can we do to help this teacher out? We struggled through it and celebrated the ah ha moment when we figured it out!
At our school we do learning walks monthly to visit other grade levels and see best practices in action. We also leave a quick note for the teachers. One of my sweet colleagues left this for me. So cool to be able to do this monthly and learn from and inspire one another.
@sawgrass_bay@CollabClassroom@KinderOwl Aww look at those smiles! They make me so proud! Love how hard they have been working on their reading strategies and putting them into action. Thanks for the pictures 😊❤️
When you are “hunting” for the authors point of view in a text about hunting you dress for the occasion! This text was perfect to connect our point of view with the authors. My Ss annotated and hunted to find reasons to support their thinking about the authors POV & their own!
Comparing and contrasting two texts calls for color coding so we can dig in and find key details to support our thinking. They loved it and were really digging into both texts. So much fun!
If you think my table is full you should see my heart! They make me a better teacher everyday! A quick prefix lesson with a few members of my crew and I thought to myself how thankful I am that they are mine. We have made some memories this year I hope they always remember ❤️
Number line jumping as we begin a new math unit multiplying bigger numbers using an open number line. The kiddos loved actually jumping it out once they solved. So fun!
Life sized math to help us clear up our misconceptions today! Walking on the multiplication table made for a lot of “ooooooohhhh” and “I get it now!” The kids are begging to work on another chart with missing factors. Fun little activity to help connect their learning!
6 years ago today! The beginning of my favorite adventure marriage. Can’t imagine this life any other way. I love being a wife, mom and teacher. Here’s to many more years full of memories and love! #anniversary#thewainwrights
