PSA for anyone wondering: It’s within reason to be a sinner, have a proclivity toward a certain sin and still agree with God that the sin you enjoy is wrong. That’s logically possible.
Reject the idea that because your sin is pleasurable to you that God is wrong about it.
What our society holds up as sexual liberation is closer to a form of erotic devastation and death. What Jesus leads us into looks like sexual repression but it actually leads us into true relational satisfaction and fullness.
I wonder how the owners of Pornhub are explaining to their family and friends that they paid for Christmas gifts this year with profits they made off of child sexual abuse material.
If we feel more righteous as we read the Bible, we are misreading it; we are missing its central message. We are reading and using the Bible rightly only when it humbles us, critiques us, and encourages us with God's love and grace despite our flaws.
Chances are, almost all of you reading this have been exposed to porn. And it's likely you were exposed before you really understood what you were seeing or how it could affect you. Does that make you a bad person? NO. If you're struggling to give up porn, you're not alone. ❤️
