A little Tuesday afternoon STEM in 4th grade! The goal was to build the tallest freestanding Christmas tree with only toothpicks and marshmallows. Lots of fun! @cathedralpk8@art_cathedral
The 4th graders made flashlights today! They explored the path electricity takes from a battery to an LED bulb. The best part was how they lent a helping hand to neighbors who needed a boost. So fun! @cathedralpk8
To celebrate All Souls’ Day and El Dia de Los Muertos, we drew designs on our “sugar” skulls that incorporate the names of loved ones who have passed away. Then, we created rainbows for our dearly beloved Msgr Jerry who was laid to rest today. ❤️🌈 @cathedralpk8@HolyNameNC
4th graders got their chance to have P.E. in the gym of our lovely neighbor church @ESUMCraleigh today. We are so grateful for their generosity and neighborliness! @cathedralpk8
4th grade traditions: Knight Awards and Stars-of-the-Week. Students present Knight Awards to classmates they see acting like Knights during the Week. Mrs. D and Mrs. C choose stars based on a trait (Flexibility, this week). We celebrate on Friday afternoons! @cathedralpk8
4th graders explored static electricity today. We knew that static electricity would attract our tiny paper people (thanks @BillNye ), so we tested different sizes of paper people to see if size would affect the transfer of energy. Ask a 4th grader for results! @cathedralpk8
First 4th grade S.T.E.M. project of the year! Students tried to make the longest paper chain using only one piece of printer paper, scissors, glue, and their own ideas. The winner was close to 10’ long! @cathedralpk8@HolyNameNC
We had a great Meet-the-Teacher Day today! It was great to see some new students in 4th grade, and we also LOVED that a few 5th graders came back to visit. ❤️❤️❤️ @cathedralpk8@HolyNameNC
