We are learning about fractions! We can build Lego towers to match descriptions. Build a tower that is one-fifth green, two-fifths red and two-fifths yellow.
Guided by Ms. Porcari, we prayed in colour today with many other classes. We held special people in our thoughts as we drew and prayed. @adrianaporcari@StBernardOCSB
Introducing Bernie the Bee! Bernie is our new mascot - he launched our pollinator meadow project during today’s assembly. Stay tuned for more information about our “Bee Hope” initiative.
We investigated a lot of different items today in science. Students recorded what they noticed and what they wonder. Ask your child which of the 6 simple machines they can name.
Shrove Tuesday was a huge success. Thank you to school council and all the community volunteers who made well over 1000 pancakes. @stbernrdcouncil@OttCatholicSB
Students were so creative during our ‘Mystery Bag’ STEAM challenge. They used items in their bag to create a never seen before creature and then they told us what habitat it would live in (based on its features).
I didn’t capture pictures of all of the habitats but students were very engaged in creating dioramas. They showed their animal, where it lives and what it looks like.
We enjoyed the sun and sticky snow on Wednesday with our Grade 6 Buddies! We were able to roll some BIG snowballs and build forts and a snowman named George! @adrianaporcari
