Indiana school superintendent Jennifer McCormick says threats from her state’s government and Washington to withhold funding if schools don’t reopen are “not helpful.”

We have a lot of challenges ahead but if there is one thing amazing educators do - it’s that they always make the school year something to remember.

Teachers - remember your “why,” stay motivated, and continue to make a difference.

There are many things we are not in control of these days, but we CAN control the way we speak TO people and the way we speak ABOUT people. #thoughtoftheday #ChildrenAreListening

Something every teacher needs to think about is vocal health. Ts strain their voices everyday. Adding a mask will, more than likely, exacerbate vocal strain. I am not advocating not wearing a mask! School systems should provide portable amplification systems for their teachers.

IN is just weeks from beginning sch, and @EducateIN Job Bank has 980 positions still open.

Looking at the hard-to-fill areas (math, spced, sci) & the sheer number of openings, I reflect on the last 15 yrs that got us here.

I completely understand what this means for kids.😔
