Hugely important warning: allowing cheaper US food imports that don’t meet the same environmental & animal protection standards as British farmers would sound a death knell for UK farms & rural communities. It must not be part of any future trade deal https://t.co/KSNoLNegRP
⭐ Sharing practice – HMI case study⭐
HM Inspectors worked with the team at Lochdonhead Primary @arygllandbute to develop a new case study. This illustrated example shows how the school is making use of the unique context to enhance children’s learning: https://t.co/dmR1vNt5pt
The devastating effect of divorce, separation on Adverse Childhood Experiences. Individuals, communities, society pay a huge cost due to ACEs - wasted lives, premature death, anti-social behaviour, + healthcare, justice, education, social services costs... https://t.co/MTxSeuzlys
In the early 1900s, UK and US women often ran Tea Rooms, an acceptable form of employment in a limited world for females, which soon became subversive spaces linked to suffrage campaigns and other women's rights #WomensArt#WomensHistoryMonth

This is Gwen Mayor. 29 years ago today, she and 16 children were murdered at #Dunblane Primary School.
“She was standing in front of a man who had weapons and enough ammunition to kill a whole school and put up a fight and I just think that says everything about her”
We really do have a lot of very stupid people in Britain...
How can any dog owner think it's acceptable to do this?
The dog sh*t will not just decompose because you suspend it in mid-air.😂 Put it in a bin.
Yesterday, @JennyGilruth said in parliament that supply was a choice for many teachers in Scotland.
Today, we asked 787 supply teachers if this was true.
97% of them told us that they rather not be on supply.
Last year, the EIS commissioned independent research on workload that laid bare the workload pressures faced by Scotland’s teachers. On average, teachers spend over 11 hours a week conducting unpaid work above their contracted hours.
This time is being used by teachers to plan and prepare lessons and resources, as well as for marking and preparing feedback for pupils. There are 20 days left for COSLA and the Scottish Government to meaningfully and collegiately commit to addressing workload.
The Scottish Government were elected in 2021 on a commitment to reduce class contact time to 21 hours. That commitment was made four years ago. There has still been no proposal for keeping this manifesto promise tabled at the SNCT. It is essential that any proposal on class contact time uses the full reduction to increase Preparation and Correction time.
1.5 hours of more preparation and correction time will mark a step forward in addressing the unsustainable workload of teachers.
1.5 hours of more preparation and correction time will allow teachers to better ensure quality learning for pupils, including those with ASN.
There are 23 days left for COSLA and the Scottish Government to meaningfully and collegiately commit to addressing workload.
Alex Thomson, "What matters with the Elon Musk intervention? Is it the comments on Twitter, or the money?"
Sir John Curtice, "The only reason Musk's comments are getting the airtime that they do is because Musk is deemed to be newsworthy, that's a judgment journalists make"
"It's not clear that Musk is particularly influential so far as public opinion is concerned"
🐝Breaking: The UK government has confirmed its commitment to a complete ban on bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides, and we hope this signals the end of “emergency” authorisations for these toxic chemicals.
How can we support and facilitate this women’s revolution? Words are not enough and gender issues need to move up the agenda. The silencing of an entire nation of women is a failure of the worlds. #UNWomen
The BBC in particular could improve things dramatically by:
1) Not continually platforming think tanks unless it says who funds them.
2) Not putting up someone with a 0.1% view against someone with a 99.9% view as “balance”.
3) Not parroting what govt says without fact checking
